Slovenia and Croatia to fight for ticket to #EuroVolleyU18W at MEVZA qualifier

Slovenia and Croatia are due to lock horns in Maribor at the MEVZA #EuroVolleyU18W qualifier with a ticket to the Final Round of the continental championship at stake after completion of the pool stage and semis in Slovenia’s second largest city. Slovenia and Croatia secured the right to contest the final after recording comprehensive 3-0 wins in their respective semi-final matches with Slovakia and Hungary. 

Croatia will play hosts Slovenia in the final of the MEVZA #EuroVolleyU18W qualifier

The winner of the matchup will punch a ticket to the #EuroVolleyU18W Final Round scheduled for later this year. The teams ranked from second to sixth will continue their journey in the second round of qualifiers scheduled for April 2024. 

On Thursday, the MEVZA #EuroVolleyU18M qualifier started as well with the event being held in Zadar, Croatia. Austria recorded two wins in as many matches in Pool A – whereas Israel and Croatia are yet to record a victory. In Pool B, Slovenia has a perfect record of two wins, and is followed by Czechia and Hungary with one victory apiece. The pool phase ends on Friday morning and is followed later in the day by the semis and classification matches.
