Standings shift with new victories at the 2025 Women’s World Championship

The 2025 Women’s World Championship continued with matches across Pools A to D, producing standout individual performances and important changes in the standings. Several European teams secured key victories, while others saw their qualification hopes come to life.
Sweden defeated Egypt 3-1 in Pool A, giving them their first tournament victory. Isabelle Haak delivered another outstanding performance, finishing with 39 points, the highest total of the day. Haak now leads the competition in scoring, with 95 points from three games, highlighting her importance to Sweden's campaign. In the group's other match, the Netherlands faced a hard challenge from hosts Thailand but won 3-2. The Dutch had to come from behind twice, with Nika Daalderop leading by 26 points. This result takes the Netherlands to the top of the group, but Sweden's victory kept their campaign going.
Pool B featured a clash between two European sides, with Italy defeating Belgium 3-1. Paola Egonu produced her best match so far, finishing with 28 points, and continues to be one of the tournament’s most reliable scorers. Belgium managed to take the third set but could not sustain its momentum against the Italians. In the other match, Cuba overcame Slovakia 3-1, eliminating the European side from contention.
In Pool C, France strengthened their position with a 3-1 win against Greece. Lucille Cazaute was the standout player, contributing 25 points as France recovered from dropping the opening set. The result keeps France in contention while leaving Greece in a difficult position.
Slovenia defeated Argentina 3-0 in Pool D, earning their first-ever Women's World Championship victory, one of the round's noteworthy outcomes. The victory kept Slovenia's hopes of qualifying alive by eliminating Argentina and moving them up to second position. Later, the USA won the group with a 3-0 victory over Czechia. After that pool is finished, and the result places Slovenia and the USA in the Round of 16 against opponents from Pool E
