Switzerland Turns the Tables Against Sweden
Switzerland earned a hard-fought 3–2 win over Sweden in Pool E of the EuroVolley Men 2026 Qualifiers after coming back from two sets down.
The early stages belonged to Sweden, who looked composed as they took the first two sets 25–21 and 25–22. Switzerland appeared on the brink of defeat, but just when the match seemed decided, Switzerland clawed its way back in.
The third set proved decisive. Switzerland held its ground under pressure and edged it 26–24 to stay in the game. From there, their confidence grew. They played with more balance and took the fourth set 25–17 to level the match.
In the final set, Switzerland carried its momentum through. Sweden kept chasing, but the Swiss side stayed steady and closed out the match 15–9 to complete the turnaround.
Israel Edges Estonia in Five Sets
Israel defeated Estonia 3–2 in Pool D of the EuroVolleyM 2026 Qualifiers after a hard-fought contest that went the full distance.
Estonia made a stronger start, taking the opening set 25–18. Israel responded in a tight second set, holding on to win 28–26. Estonia regained its lead in the third with a 25–21 victory, but Israel controlled the fourth set comfortably, 25–14, to force a decider.
The fifth set remained close throughout, with both teams trading points. In the end, Israel managed to edge ahead and secured the match 18–16.
Estonia remains at the top of Pool D with three wins from four matches. Israel follows closely in second place with three wins from four matches.
