Vasif Talibov to lead Team Azerbaijan at Tokyo Olympic qualifier

Baku, Azerbaijan, December 17, 2019. The Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation have announced Vasif Talibov as the newly appointed head coach of their women’s national team. Moreover, Famil Aghayev and Eldar Yusubov will be working as assistant coaches of Team Azerbaijan at the women’s Olympic qualifying event due to take place from January 7 to 12 in Apeldoorn, Netherlands.
It is truly remarkable that all three coaches are currently working as head coaches with Azerbaijani teams. Vasif Talibov is at the helm of Murov VK, Famil Aghayev in Azerrail VK and Eldar Yusubov in Absheron VK.
Talibov started his coaching career as an assistant coach before becoming the head coach of the Ukrainian club from the city of Vinnytsia back in 2004. A few years later, in 2013, he was at the helm of Telecom BAKU. One year later, in 2014 he continued his work as assistant coach to Zoran Gajic at Rabita BAKU. In the 2017/2018 season, Talibov returned to Ukraine to coach the team of Vinnytsia again.
