De Gennaro recognised as Player of the Year by Volleyball World

To crown a truly memorable year for European Volleyball, with unprecedented success at all levels and total supremacy on the global stage as well, Monica De Gennaro was recently recognised as the Female Volleyball Player of 2025 by Volleyball World. 

The star libero enjoyed a truly sensational year, completing a clean sweep of all competitions that she contested with A. Carraro Prosecco DOC CONEGLIANO before crowning herself winner of the Volleyball Nations League as well as world champion with Team Italy later in the summer. 

De Gennaro, who recently announced the end of her career with the national team, has shown remarkable longevity at the highest level and this coming January 8 will turn 39. Her achievement as ‘Female Player of the Year 2025’ will be acknowledged and celebrated this coming Sunday in front of a sellout crowd at Palaverde in Treviso shortly before the matchup that CONEGLIANO will be playing against Igor Gorgonzola NOVARA in the Italian national league.
