Dutch women engage with fans through Advent calendar

Utrecht, Netherlands, December 4, 2019. In the run-up to the CEV Tokyo Volleyball European Qualification 2020 – Women due to take place from January 7 to 12 in Apeldoorn, the Dutch women’s national team have published a Christmas Advent calendar. Fans can win exciting prizes every day from December 1 to 24. Just follow them on Facebook and Instagram and join in the fun!
Every day you can win a prize following the stories posted on the ‘Volleybaldames’ Instagram and Facebook pages. The prizes at stake range from tickets for the opening day of the Olympic qualifying tournament in Apeldoorn to signed memorabilia from the team. One of the items is very exciting, a specially made fan video of the winner and friends when visiting the tournament.

The new head coach of the Netherlands, Italian Giovanni Caprara, has announced the 24 names he is considering for the tournament to take place in the Netherlands from January 7 to 12. A noteworthy name on the list is that of Floortje Meijners, who last played for the Dutch team a way back in 2007, when they won the FIVB World Grand Prix. The 32-year-old outside hitter of Saugella MONZA says she is honoured to be back in the national team.
“I was not able to play for the national team because of personal reasons. I followed the team from afar and was happy to see the progress made over that period. That’s why I’m especially proud to be part of that team again.”
