CEV Volleyball Cup 2021 - Women
Luxembourg, February 24, 2021. The second home game of the semifinal phase in the women’s CEV Volleyball Cup 2021 between Saugella MONZA and Tent OBRENOVAC at Arena Di MONZA ended with an emphatic straight-set win of the hosts. The Italian club dominated on the court in all skills closing the game in 67 minutes. The team from OBRENOVAC couldn't find their rhythm and a way to stop Hanna Orthmann who was the best scorer of the game, she contributed with as many as 15 points to the hosts' victory.
Saugella MONZA (ITA) vs Tent OBRENOVAC (SRB) 3-0 (25-15; 25-22; 25-12)
Both Saugella MONZA and Tent OBRENOVAC entered the court very motivated. At the beginning of the match neither team were able to gain a bigger advantage as both were focused to not let the opponent jump out to leading. That changed at 11-11, the hosts jumped to a three-point-lead that totally knocked the Serbian team off their rhythm. The Italian side didn't waste this opportunity improving the advantage to ten points and confidently closing the set.
The result of the opener didn't dispirit Tent Obrenovac as they visibly refined their game, however it was still not enough. After a fierce beginning, with powerful spikes from Hanna Orthmann, Saugella Monza built a three-point-advantage in the middle of this part. The Serbian team did their best to not lose the contact with the opponent chasing the score, but the second set also went to the hosts.
The hosts were determined to finish the game in three sets. From the very beginning they controlled the game reaching an early10-5 lead. They broke away reaching even a ten-point-advantage and never looked back winning the set and the match.
