- These teams meet for the first time in the Champions League.
- JASTRZEBSKI Wegiel meet Italian opponents in the Champions League for the first time since they beat Cucine Lube CIVITANOVA in the quarter-finals of 2021/22 (3-0 away, 3-2 at home).
- JASTRZEBSKI Wegiel's win over Cucine Lube CIVITANOVA in the quarter-finals of 2021/22 was the only occasion JASTRZEBSKI Wegiel knocked out Italian opponents in a Champions League knockout tie. In 2010/11 they were eliminated by TRENTINO BetClic in the semi-finals (0-3) and in 2014/15 they were eliminated by Sir Safety PERUGIA in the Playoffs 12 (2-3 at home and 0-3 away).
- JASTRZEBSKI Wegiel (83, Tomasz Fornal) and Gas Sales Daiko PIACENZA (79, Ricardo Lucarelli Santos de Souza) have the lowest-scoring top scorers among the teams still in competition this Champions League campaign.

- Gas Sales Daiko PIACENZA can become the first Champions League debutants to reach the semi-finals since Halkbank ANKARA lost the final in 2013/14 against Belogorie BELGOROD. Note: Halkbank ANKARA were guaranteed a spot in the semi-finals as they hosted the Final Four that season.
- The last team to reach the semi-finals without any advantages (e.g. hosting the Final Four) in their debut campaign were TRENTINO Volley in 2008/09 (won the final against Iraklis THESSALONIKI).
- Gas Sales Daiko PIACENZA won five of their six matches in their maiden Champions League campaign, only losing the opener against Halkbank ANKARA on 22 November (1-3 at home).

Jastrzebski plays excellent volleyball, they are strong in every fundamental and we will have to be very careful and above all approach the match in the best way. Patience will be needed during the match, we will have to play our best volleyball, the one seen already in the group of this event which we care about a lot."

- JASTRZEBSKI Wegiel made it to the semi-finals of a Champions League campaign four times: 2010/11 (lost the bronze medal match), 2013/14 (won the bronze medal match), 2021/22 (lost the semi-final) and 2022/23 (lost the final).
- JASTRZEBSKI Wegiel reached the Champions League final last season, losing 2-3 to Grupa Azoty KĘDZIERZYN-KOŹLE in Torino.
- JASTRZEBSKI Wegiel lost the opening set in three of their six Champions League matches this season. They won in straight sets in the other three matches.
- Tomasz Fornal is JASTRZEBSKI Wegiel's leading scorer this season on 83 points. Fornal recorded 150 points last season, only behind Stephen Boyer (161) among JASTRZEBSKI Wegiel players.

- Andrea Anastasi (head coach): "We knew it would be a complicated match and after the first set played with too much tension we freed ourselves from some fears and the team played excellent volleyball at times. What I liked was the great character shown by the boys, in some moments we weren't good but everyone was there with their heads and we recovered. Now a difficult match awaits us in Poland, we are ready."
